Poll was very positiv about making a Corel Painter Tutorial. 83% said yes! =D
I use Corel Painter IX.5 on mac, but this tutorial can be used for IX, X, 11 as well. IMO the tools should be the same ^^

So, I started.. but it just got sooo huge.. I had to split it into parts... which are still huge.. This is Part I
I will give some tips with painter in general and about the tools I use and recommend.. In Part II, which will come too soon, I'll go more into detail about the tools in an actual drawing.

Sorry for my bad english, if you see errors, feel free to tell me ^^;

Hey, nice tutorial, really helped me out. My PC can't handle Corel Painter 12 really well (because it's old -.-') and I hoped this setting "flies" under "memory and scratch..." could help me, but I can't find the point "memory and scratchblah" under "Preferences" 8D
Can you help me? xD

if the way i did it didnt work, you have to hold shift while dragging the icon on the working area (since painter 12) or you can go to window -> custom palette and create a new one there.
