Now this was very informative for me, seeing as I have never as much as touched Painter before. I had no idea it had so many functions...I used to joke that no one ever let digital media dry..and now I'm just stunned.

I'll be sure to remember this for when I step into the world of digital media!

hehe, good, you can never learn enough. But be warned, Painter is an ATTENTION WHORE 8D no seriously.. it's like "omgomg, I TOTALLY NEED TO FIX THIS OR IM GONNA DIE" then you start painter and get an annoying error to reinstall the software or shit, and then my blood pressure usually explodes like a volcano. But besides that, best software to achieve the traditional look with digital software 8D

DD8 that does not sound good. I hate programs with errors. Which is why I love-hate photoshop. Sometimes it's perfect, othertimes it goes mad and hangs. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

+___+ I'm so tempted to get a tablet now...

I never have problems with Photoshop anymore since I got my mac *hugs his iMac*
I :heart: :iconmacplz:
And you should really get a tablet, it's awesome! And a good investment (if you buy a good one).
I bought my wacom Intuos3 for ~300€ - that may sound much, BUT I used it for over 2 years now, it still works like on the first day, never had problems, nothings damaged or broken or stuff like that, still in good condition. And I saved a lot of frustration thanks to the undo function while painting :D
After two years of good service, I will renew it with the new intuos4. But not because it's not working anymore or stuff, I just want a bigger workspace! A5 is the absolute min.workspace I recommend you, I will change from A5 -> A4. Now I can use the "small" A5 tablet for sketching outside while having an A4 tablet installed in my home. Awesome. but oh wait, I'm drifting-off with my mind D8 sorry, what was the topic again? XD

I'm getting a laptop as well (lol, university preparations) and I did consider getting an iMac. Just to be different lol (Dad likes computers, so I've got nearly every kinda imaginable at home, Acers, Toshiba,IBM, Dell, you name it, but we don't have an iMac. orz?)

Thats actually very useful! I needed advice on tablet-shopping. (you psychic you :dummy:) I'm not really sure which one I'm getting yet, although plenty of people have mentioned Wacom Intuos to me...I'm curious, when you say A5, which size is that? Large, medium or small?

The topic was banana vampires. :iconretardthinkingplz:

an iMac is not an laptop, just to make that clear.. it looks like a normal monitor, but with everything in it, so you don't need a tower too (unlike PC). The new generation has 21.5" and 27"!!!monitor. If you want a lappy, I would suggest a macbook or maybe the pro (which is expensiiiiiiiive). You can learn more about all the stuff at the apple homepage or ask me anything ;P

Intuos is awesome, it's the best of the best, regarding stats and pressure sensitivity. They renamed the models after the intuos 3 series. So my intuos3 A5 is a little smaller then the Intuos4 M, which has a widescreen ratio. but that only makes a few cm. If I remember correctly it's like that
A6=S(way too small, forget it)
A5=M (ok)
A4=L (my next one, awesome!=D)
A3=XL (wayyyy to large for my desk ^^)
Don't forget that the tablet ITSELF isn't A5 for example, the A5 is just the drawing area. You have to consider the space around it too with the buttons and stuff. Just So an A5 tablet has ~ the size of an A4 paper, and so on.
DAMN, why renaming every fucking product :< shame on you concerns!
because I'm babbling already... why do they do that? A few examples I noticed (and that's not much)

°;Photoshop 8 followed CS instead of calling it 9... why do that? did it sound to simple? Or are they embarassed they made so many? I dunno.
°Intuos3 A5 gets Intuos4 M ... why that?
°Windows XP gets Vista and now gets 7, where's the hidden logic?
°but not better then that is adding just more numbers... like apple. I run OSX 10(<- why write 10? that's what the X stands for, the old one was OS9).6 (<-means snow leopard, old version leopard was called 5).1 (<- 1.update) I mean, seriously.... what the heck?

Gah, I'm retarded when it comes to Apple. I own a iPod, but that's where my affair with Apple ended. I think I've seen an iMac but for the Macbook...well, I might have to order one..which won't exactly help with the price tag. THANKS SO MUCH :heart:

LOL, I see what you mean now. When you first mentioned A5 size, I imediately thought that it was as big as a A5 sheet of paper. Which is huge. And I don't think I have space for it lol. I figure I'm going to get a medium one first and play with it. When I'm out working, perhaps I'll upgrade to a larger one. Or if I find out I'm in love with digital media. Which ever comes first.

Photoshop 8 is also called photoshop CS2. :D
And Windows seven is called what it is because it's the seventh OS microsoft released. (95, 98, 2000, ME, XP, Vista, 7)
Wooo to creativity on Microsofts part! :iconfacepalmplz:

Computers and gadgets have always have weird names. Sounds cooler. Like the new PSPGO. Wtf GO??
